Landing page checklist for Google Ads

What your Google Ads landing page must include so paid clicks turn into enquiries instead of bounce.

Match the ad promise exactly

Headline, offer and geo should mirror the ad the visitor clicked. Mismatch kills Quality Score and trust in seconds. One primary message per campaign; do not dump every service onto a generic homepage and hope paid traffic figures it out.

Prove the offer above the fold

Show who you serve, a concrete outcome and one CTA before the scroll. Add trust near the action: reviews, logos, certifications or a short process strip. Decorative hero videos that delay the ask are expensive on paid traffic.

Remove friction from the conversion

Forms should ask only what sales needs to respond. Prefer click-to-call on mobile for local intent. Speed matters: slow landing pages burn CPC. Track every submit and call with consistent UTM and conversion tags before you scale spend.

Test one change at a time

When CPA is high, change message, proof or form — not everything. Keep a control. Pair Ads optimisation with landing iteration; bidding alone rarely fixes a vague page. A tight checklist beats another round of “creative refresh” with the same weak structure.
